My practice explores the relationships between people, nature, and ritual through tactile, process-based mediums such as printmaking, collage, and embroidery. Stories are an important part of the work I create as this is how I believe humans connect, to art, to the world and each other.
I use repetition and craft as a way of thinking through relationships between people, nature, and ritual, allowing ideas to emerge through making rather than being pre-determined.&#38;nbsp;

My work mostly features organic forms that may shift between the microscopic and the monumental. Texture and materiality are central, with layered surfaces, stitch and print combining in multiple ways.

&#38;nbsp;Rooted in slowness and repetition, the work I create explores how ritual may look in a contemporary, fragmented world. I’m drawn to the quiet repetition of handwork, where making becomes a way to reflect, remember and connect.&#38;nbsp;

I have worked as a lecturer in art and design for over a decade and enjoy developing playful approaches for and with learners. I teach undergraduates, adult learners and community workshops.I enjoy leading projects that encourage communal making. In these works, individual expressions are often gathered and transformed into collective pieces. My aim with these activities is to allow those involved to reflect on how we connect with each other and how individual narratives may become layered and evolve together.

Collectively, they became something much bigger.The project evolved and a large inflatable sculpture featuring all of the artwork was developed and displayed at Rotherham Roots festival in front of th Rotherham Minster. A community printing workshop accompanied the work, with visitors encouraged to contribute to a printed textile banner, which formed part of the parade procession.

PlayStackBuildShow is a title and an instruction. These playful blocks were situated in Victoria Leeds shopping centre. Designed to be an unexpected invitation to pause and play.The importance of play in our lives is often overlooked, we forget what play can do for us. The puzzle blocks are a physical invitation to re-arrange, deconstruct and create. The audience are an active participant in both the creation and interpretation of the work. My intention with this work is to provide escapism through shared imaginary narratives around the characters.

In this family workshop visitors to York Art Gallery were invited to create a design in response to the exhibition,&#38;nbsp;The Art of Wallpaper: Morris &#38;amp; Co.&#38;nbsp;
Individual printed designs were scanned, coloured digitally and then laid out in a pattern inspired by the designs of Morris &#38;amp; Co. The final roll of wall paper was hung in the gallery with the original wallpapers that inspired its creation.&#38;nbsp;

The overlapping and layered images represent different ways of understanding the world or what is experienced. The images used in this work are old etchings which are now ‘public domain’ imagery. The availabiltiy of these images and their potential use, raises so many questions for me; aside from the obvious authorial displacement, more human concerns on rememberance, memory, and re-written narratives surface.&#38;nbsp; The installation aims to bring all of my competing thoughts together in a deliberate ‘car crash’ of intersecting cultures that morph into more comforting biophilic forms.

National Saturday Clubs give young people the opportunity to study a subject they love for free.&#38;nbsp;
York Art gallery asked me to lead a project with the participants of ther Saturday Club, which culminated in a collaborative sculpture and exhibition of work created throughout the 12 week programme.

	As part of York Art Gallery’s exhibition The Art of Wallpaper: Morris &#38;amp; Co., I developed and delivered a drop-in family workshop focused on block printing and pattern-making. Drawing inspiration from the floral and geometric designs of Morris &#38;amp; Co., participants were guided through the process of designing and printing their own motifs.


The activity took place in the gallery atrium, allowing for open access and spontaneous participation. Individual prints were made on one continuous roll of paper, creating a collaborative piece in real time. After the workshop, I digitally scanned and coloured each contribution, assembling them into a repeat pattern.


The final wallpaper was professionally printed and installed as part of the exhibition, offering visitors a chance to see their contributions woven into a larger decorative artwork—bridging historical design with hands-on, contemporary creativity.

The reality of potential myriad worlds suggests that the possibility of countless different worlds is itself real or meaningful. It's an acknowledgment that while these worlds may not exist in our lived experience, their potential existence is conceptually or philosophically valid.


The work speaks to the power of art to make possibility tangible. Every artwork is a crystallization of one path out of infinite others, a realized fragment of a vast virtual space of imagination. This concept affirms the seriousness and reality of artistic imagination—not as escapism, but as a way of engaging with what could be.

	As lead artist for the National Saturday Club at York Art Gallery I developed and ran a range of print and collage activities for young participants, such as collage, lino printing and block printing. The gallery also asked us to produce a work Inspired by Harland Miller's Letter Paintings. I ran introductory workshops on letterforms and the group visited People Powered Press and Thin Ice Press to learn more about printed typography.&#38;nbsp; Together the group produced Words of Power: A Collaborative Sculpture. Reflecting on themes of place, identity and resilience, the sculpture consists of colourful blocks with intersecting and over lapping letterforms that can be arranged and re-arraged to form words selected by the participants. &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;
A final exhibition of all the work produced was presented, with&#38;nbsp;Words of Power: A Collaborative Sculpture remaining in the gallery space throughout the Harland Miller exhibition.&#38;nbsp;


Inspired by Harland Miller’s paintings, which explore the visual and emotional impact of words, this piece plays with text and form. The blocks, like Miller’s book covers, invite us to consider how words shape meaning, memory, and personal connection.

Gather is a collaborative art project that explores the interconnectedness of humanity, nature, and personal growth. Gather seeks to illuminate the ways in which we are all intertwined with the natural world, and how our collective actions foster growth—both individually and as a community.


Beginning in 2024 at Rotherham Show; visitors were invited to gather, record and reflect on the flora and fauna of Clifton Park by producing a drawing. All works were collated and transformed into a large scale artwork. At the time, participants had no idea how their drawings would be used or what their contribution might become. The Gather Sphere is the result of this stage of the project and represents the expansive growth that is possible through collaboration. 


Through the individual responses and the resulting installation, Gather is an expression of the power of unity, the nurturing force of nature, and the profound impact that collective creativity can have on the world around us.

	The sphere, which features all of the artwork created at Rotherham Show, was displayed at Rotherham Roots Carnival outside The Minster. At this event, visitors were asked to think about the world beneath their feet and create a block printed plant, animal or insect. Each person printed their design onto a fabric banner that joined the carnival parade at the end of the event.&#38;nbsp;
